Andrew Blackwood Blood Drive

Troop 1 hosted the Annual Andrew Blackwood Blood Drive benefiting City of Hope on October 20, 2019.

The blood drive is held in memory of a former Troop 1 Boy Scout, Andrew Blackwood. Andrew was diagnosed with bone cancer during his time as a member of Troop 1. He fought the disease bravely but sadly he died shortly after his 18th birthday. Even though Andrew endured many years of procedures, he managed to graduate from high school and earn his Eagle Scout. In fact, the annual Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Donor Recruitment on behalf of City of Hope began as Andrew's Eagle Scout project.
